In early 2003, Hedith began taking painting lessons in her home with a private instructor, Naty Valle, a fine artist, sculptor and national award winner in fire arts in Venezuela and exhibited her work at the museums of Bellas Artes and Arte Contemporaneo in Caracas, Venezuela, as a form of art therapy, to keep her mind occupied. Over the past twenty one years, she has expertly honed her skills to become an incredibly talented artist, who despite her physical limitations, patiently and adeptly creates richness of color and depth of soul in each of her paintings. Hedith primarily utilizes oil on linen. Typical subject matter includes landscapes, flora, wildlife and still life. All paintings are original works.
Hedith found her calling as an artist while undergoing art therapy. She loves nature, animals, and the outdoors. She also has painted historical figures, primarily from her home country, and portraits of family members. She has created hundreds of paintings and typically works on several paintings at a time. Hedith’s artistic mission is to seek out a sense of tranquility through the observation and representation of nature. Many of Hedith’s childhood memories are embodied in each one of her paintings, and in turn, they evoke deep emotions and personal memories for viewers.
